Product showcase: award-winning Tejo Lounge

September 16, 2025

Isomi adds six new products to Tejo, going carbon-negative.

A range made with natural materials – cork instead of plywood, natural latex instead of foam, wool and hemp instead of polyester — Tejo by Isomi welcomes six new items into its award-winning collection.

In addition to a modular soft seating range and a table, which we previously spotlighted, Isomi has launched a new lounge chair, stool, ottoman, side tables, a dining table, and a lectern. Each item in the collection is carefully curated with regenerative, carbon-negative materials to ensure it’s part of the circular design model.

”Tejo reflects our ambition to create pieces that tread lightly on the planet, yet make a meaningful, lasting impact in the spaces we inhabit.

Paul Crofts, designer & founder

The harvesting of Tejo's cork

Tejo is made from recycled cork waste from wine stoppers. The cork is harvested from trees grown in responsibly managed forests in the Alentejo region of Portugal. It is harvested by hand from the bark of cork trees every nine to twelve years without cutting down or damaging the tree. This traditional method of harvesting allows the tree to continue growing after harvest, while absorbing CO2 and preserving vital biodiversity.

"We believe the future of design lies in more considered material choices and thoughtful assembly. ” ~ Paul Crofts, designer & founder

Tejo lounge: balancing form, function, and sustainability

The new Tejo lounge chair honours the same soft contours and tactile surface of the original Tejo seating system but is available as a rounded singular seat, or a two- or three-seater sofa. Being compact, it’s suitable for a variety of environments, including commercial interiors and residential spaces. Optional extras include integrated power, a planter, screen divider, or table so you can make Tejo Lounge work for your space.

Tejo ottoman: multi-functional versatility

Add to the Tejo family with a soft and curvy ottoman, available in two sizes. Made in the same style and with the same material palette as Tejo Lounge – including recycled waste cork, natural latex, and wool upholstery – the ottoman is the perfect addition for comfort. Suitable as a footrest, stool, or a soft table, the Tejo Ottoman is available in a range of upholstery options to match or complement your other Tejo products.

Tejo dining table: the centrepiece of gatherings

The new Tejo table makes a statement. An excellent talking point and comfortable anchor in shared spaces, it features an entirely cork base in a distinctive shape and a tabletop made from Richlite, a high-performance material made from post-consumer recycled paper and bio-resin. This dining table is as sustainable as it is innovative.

Tejo stool: the best seat in the house

Made from a single block of reclaimed cork, the new Tejo Stool features a rounded base and soft square top, with a unique edge that adds to your comfort while doubling as a natural handle. This lightweight and durable seat is made from cork, with the option to be upholstered, making it a flexible choice for various spaces. Whether you’re looking for an individual stool, you’re creating a cluster, or you’re assembling the seats around the Tejo dining table, this is a timeless piece designed to look natural yet bold in its environment.

Tejo lectern: putting sustainability on a podium

To complete the Tejo collection, meet the new Lectern. Both beautiful and functional, the lectern offers a natural presence for learning, hospitality, and commercial environments. Featuring a cork base and minimal detailing, it exudes quiet confidence while matching the rest of the collection.

For over 10 years, Isomi has been a leader in sustainable, versatile, and striking furniture systems for both public and private spaces. All the pieces in the Tejo collection are modular and easy-to-specify solutions, ensuring responsible material sourcing to achieve a carbon-negative approach. This allows your business to prioritise the planet while creating an interior that sparks inspiration.
