Revive, restore, and relove at the RefurbHub

November 27, 2024

With millions of office desks and chairs ending up in landfill sites each year, participating in the circular economy through upcycling, re-homing, and repairing furniture has never been more important. To support this, Saxen have launched the RefurbHub.

Our team are passionate about extending the product life cycle of office furnishings. Every piece of furniture we restore or resell is one fewer item making its way to landfill. Our ongoing commitment to sustainable interior solutions means we can help reduce waste, conserve resources, and contribute to a greener planet.

We need to rethink how we view ageing furniture. Not just to save money, but to protect our planet's  resources, the environment, and the future.

Embrace the circular economy with RefurbHub.

RefurbHub by Saxen is a new initiative that transforms tired office chairs, soft seating, desks, tables, and storage back to as-new condition at a fraction of the replacement cost. How we do it...

Woman holds swatches of fabric over an old sofa that she is getting reupholstered

We reupholster.

RefurbHub's expert upholsterers can recover your tired commercial soft furnishings – reviving pieces that have been damaged, lost their plushness and cushioning, or simply no longer suit your style of interior style.

We can reupholster and revive your office chairs and soft seating, including task chairs, reception seating, banquet seating, fixed seating, bar seating, auditorium seating, public area seating, and breakout chairs – as well as fabric acoustic screens and notice boards. We can also replace old foam and webbing to ensure your refurbished seating is as comfortable as beautiful.

You can choose to have your items upholstered in a wide range of commercial fabrics, or if suitable, we can use your own custom textiles. We stock a wide range of swatches, and our experts can even advise you on what would best suit your needs and interior.

We repair.

In addition to our upholstery services, we repair faded, worn, scratched, or damaged furniture in an effort to bring classic pieces back to life. You can now enjoy your furniture for years to come.

The RefurbHub team will source replacement parts when needed, or we can manufacture custom parts by 3D printing components in-house to minimise the carbon footprint of the repair. We have recently invested in a CNC machine which allows us to manufacture replacement desk and table tops and furniture panels when needed. We also have state-of-the-art edging technology to refresh your MFC desktops, tables and storage.

Where possible, we will restore and repair furniture at your premises to minimise disruption to your organisation. Alternatively, we operate a prompt collection and delivery service. If we need to take the chair off the premises for repair, we can also provide loan chairs to keep your team operating while we restore your furniture.

We resell.

If your furniture is beyond restoration or you’re in the market for great furniture at an excellent value, you can choose preloved furniture with Saxen’s RefurbHub. We continuously replenish a wide range of high-quality items that have been meticulously restored, from task seating to upholstered pods. Not only does this save you money, but you’re also helping to keep perfectly good furniture out of landfill. Our refurbished furniture showroom in Newmilns, Ayrshire can be visited by appointment, and we will be launching a new website catalogue soon.

The impact of RefurbHub.

The benefits of using RefurbHub go beyond the initial advantage of good-value furniture. This initiative promotes a circular economy while giving a new lease of life and style to dated or broken items. It will reduce your organisation’s carbon footprint since you divert furniture from landfills.

Using RefurbHub also reduces the demand for new materials, decreasing harmful deforestation. It also uses less energy than manufacturing new furniture, which is fantastic for our beautiful planet.

Restoring existing and buying preloved furniture is the way forward – a new way of thinking about the old. Get in touch for more details or visit our RefurbHub page.
