Product showcase: one chair, multiple identities
Designed by the award-winning Alejandro Villarreal, the mid-century-inspired Otto collection of chairs and tables brings aesthetic integration, elegance, and a touch of playfulness to any space.
Otto, designed by Alejandro Villarreal.
Alejandro Villarreal holds a postgrad in Product Design from the Royal College of Art, London, and is the founder and principal of both Hayche and Hierve, an award-winning multidisciplinary design consultancy based in Mexico City and London. Villarreal's signature juxtaposition of materials is showcased in the Otto range, with its sculptural bent steel frame supporting an intricately curved plywood backrest and seat.
"The Otto armchair was conceived as a light and stackable chair that blends the warmth and soft curvature of the plywood with a simple, rational and clean metal frame."

Otto is playful, but it is serious, too. The Otto family of furniture is as sustainable as it is practical. This cradle-to-cradle range has been designed and manufactured with the circular economy in mind – detachable components make future reparation, renovation, and recycling straightforward.
With its compact and carbon-conscious design, Otto can be used in a range of environments and is especially appealing when seamless integration between work areas and styles is a key aesthetic consideration.
Seriously playful – Otto 4-legged armchair.
The Otto four-legged armchair is available in Standard and Colour Series finishes. Both are sophisticated yet simple, featuring an elegant metal frame and a sculptural backrest and seat crafted from oak veneer on a formed birch plywood base. The backrest and frame are joined with a distinctive T-shaped metal connector.
Otto armchairs are stackable up to four chairs with easily detachable components. These chairs are excellent for visitor and training seating, as well as auditorium setups, and education settings where space is at a premium.
The standard series features three colour variations: oak and black, oak and white, and walnut and black. The colour series is available in six unique and vibrant colourways. For an intentional pop of colour, this design by Villarreal is timeless.
Turn heads – Otto swivel chair with pyramid base.
Perfect for conference, meeting, and boardrooms, the Otto task chair with a black aluminium pyramid swivel base is a supportive and practical choice. It includes an upholstered padded seat for additional comfort and is available in four variations: oak and fabric; oak and leather; black and fabric; black and leather.
"The main detail of the chair is the connection point between components. After more than seven iterations, we came up with a subtle yet structurally strong solution."
