the process.

We meticulously inspect and assess the condition of all furniture as it arrives in our warehouse, checking every component to ensure it is suitable for refurbishment. If it is not sustainable, we will ethically recycle it.

  • step 1: initial product cleaning

Every chair begins with a thorough cleaning.

Our refurb team start by vacuuming any dirt or debris that has collected in the chair's nooks and crannies before thoroughly cleaning its hard surfaces using eco-friendly, plant-based cleaning and disinfectant products. We then steam-clean the chair's upholstery. This ensures the product is sanitised correctly.

We then can begin the restoration process.

  • step 2: damage inspection

We then inspect the chair and repair any minor damage.

This stage includes testing to ensure that the product's standard functions are working as intended, that all screws, nuts, and bolts are effective, and that all joints in the metal frame are tight.

Any textile damage is also noted for the upholstery stage.

  • step 3: comfort check

We inspect the integrity of any foam in the product and replace padding and contoured foam as needed.

The padding in office chairs plays a key role in supporting good posture by distributing your weight evenly across the seat pad. If the existing cushion is compressed or worn, we will replace it.

Our recycling partners are able to shred and re-use most waste foam. This is often reused in the manufacture of garden furniture, acoustic products, and even carpets.

  • step 4: upholstery checks

Our expert upholsters then go to work, ensuring the seat and backrest look clean and new.

For leather products, we heat and re-stretch the leather to smooth out any sagging. We then rub in leather conditioner to make it fresh.

For fabric chairs, we verify that the cushion is in good condition. For the fabric, our skilled team will re-upholster any seat, backrest and headrest that needs repaired. When required, we use special adhesives that are environmentally friendly.

For solid and stacking chairs, we thoroughly cleaning the seat and backrest, polishing out scratches and treating the surface with a special non-toxic cleaner. We may not always be able to remove deeper scratches or blemishes, but the price we set reflects the product's condition.

  • step 5: surface inspection

If the chair has metal arms, base, legs or backrests, we clean and polish them, buffing out light scratches and marks. As our chairs are refurbished products, we may not always be able to remove every mark to bring them to perfect condition.

For products with painted frames, we prep and re-spray any damaged or marked areas to ensure the surface is restored.

For plastic and lacquered wooden frames, we lightly polish, paying special attention to removing any marks or light scratches.

  • step 6: functionality check

We make sure you don't compromise on functionality when participating in the circular economy. When giving an office chair a second life, we ensure it retains all of its original functionality.

We use silicone to lubricate the gas height cylinders, which are used to raise or lower the chair's seat. This makes sure your chair operates smoothly and effectively.

  • step 7: hardware check

Although an office chair may seem comfortable and stylish, it will not be sturdy in the long run if its hardware is not well-fitted, strong, and functioning.

Every wheel is securely attached, as well as lever arms and controls, ensuring a perfect fit.

All chairs will be stable, safe, and wobble-free.
